Montrose Alpine Nursery

A family-owned and operated farm, we offer wholesale native grown Colorado Blue Spruce trees, Aspen and other trees, Beetle Kill Replacement Trees and other deciduous trees and shrubs grown at 7,400 feet elevation. With high survival rates, our trees are the best value long-term when establishing your landscaping or reforestation projects! Montrose Alpine Nursery was established in 2000 to grow trees in a hearty environment at altitude, to specifically address high altitude homeowners and landscape contractors needs for quality trees. Our trees are exposed to the elements of wind, snow, ice, sun and heat to build in a hearty foundation for our trees to have a high survival rates upon transplant.

Our landscape trees

are planted in areas exposed directly to the elements to develop a hearty stock. We take the hit on survival rate on the seedlings so you have a higher survival rate upon transplant of a mature tree. With temperatures below zero in the winter, East Winds of over 50mph in winter and summer -- our trees really deal with a lot of harsh conditions.

Montrose Alpine Nursery Landscape Trees

are adapted well to severe environments! Our trees look like Alpine Trees in the wild, because they are grown in a natural alpine environment. You won't find anything comparable at most tree nurserys!

My favorite things about Montrose Alpine Nursery are that their trees are grown at high altitude and are very marketable, look strong and healthy and move quickly off my retail lot. In fact, the trees from Montrose Alpine Nursery were sold out in just a few weeks, prior to all my other inventory!

Steve Curtis, Owner Rocky Mountain Trees and Landscaping

The trees we bought all survived at our home at 9,400 feet!

Mrs. Edna Parker

I have not had any trees from Montrose Alpine Nursery die in my landscape contracts.

At Montrose Alpine Nursery

Our mission is to grow trees to address the needs of high-altitude subdivisions and home landscapes.

Native Grown

By growing our trees at 7,400 feet of elevation and exposed to wind, cold, heat and snow our trees grow up hearty and can withstand transplant at a higher survival rate that other trees grown on the valley floor. Our trees are grown from seedlings and are not "wet nursed" into the ground. We allow our trees to grow in a natural environment.

Landscape Trees

Our Colorado Blue Spruce, Aspen, Concolor, Doug Fir, Ponderosa and other trees and shrubs are ideal for the landscape contractor needs in high-altitude subdivisions. Especially at Ski Resorts and other high-altitude towns, Montrose Alpine Nursery serves your needs with trees that will survive the harshest environments upon transplant!
